We’re proudly team ice cream. Our name, Gelati Celesti, often makes people think we’re gelato, but it translates to “heavenly ice cream” in Italian. And that's exactly what we make. Small-batch ice cream churned on special Italian equipment that whips in less air. The result is a rich and creamy texture that feels a little like gelato, but it's 100% ice cream.

It's simple. Small batches, premium ingredients, and care in every step. By minimizing the air whipped into our ice cream, we create a distinctly creamy texture you won't find anywhere else. If you love the science behind food, look up the word “overrun.”

All of our ice cream is made right here in Richmond, Virginia. We churn in small batches daily, so the ice cream you enjoy is fresh, handcrafted, and made with a whole lot of love.

We offer about 20 “house favorites” year-round. Fan favorites like Chocolate Decadence, Just Ask, and Mint Chip. On top of that, we rotate 12 seasonal, monthly, and limited-time flavors, so there is always something new to try.

Toddler: 1 scoop Small: 2 scoops Medium: 3 scoops Large: 4 scoops

For any size larger than a Toddler, you are welcome to mix and match. One flavor per scoop.

Sorbetto is the Italian word for sorbet. Our sorbetto is a fruit-based frozen treat we make alongside our ice cream. It's dairy-free, light, and refreshing. Perfect if you're craving something fruity or a little less rich.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy a scoop with us, and we offer options for a variety of needs.

Vegan and Dairy-Free

Our fruit sorbettos are naturally dairy-free. We also feature at least one rotating dairy-free ice cream flavor in addition to our sorbettos. Flavors vary by shop, so check your local store for today’s options. While we're not a certified vegan facility, many guests with dairy-free preferences love these choices.

Gluten-Free Many of our flavors are made without gluten. We're not a certified gluten-free facility, but flavors made without gluten are clearly labeled in-store so you can choose with confidence. Allergens

All of our ice cream is made in one kitchen. We take care to keep flavors separate, but we cannot guarantee they are free from cross-contact with allergens like soy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, dairy, or gluten. If you have a severe allergy, please let our scoopers know. They're always happy to open a fresh tub and use a clean scoop to help minimize cross-contact.

Kosher

Our Grove Avenue shop in Richmond is Kosher certified.

Our truck, Celest, is reserved for public and corporate events these days. You can still enjoy Gelati Celesti at your celebration. We cater weddings, parties, office events, and lots of special moments. Learn more on our Catering and Events page.
